Material: Blades for cutting acrylic are often made from Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) or Carbide. PCD blades are made with synthetic diamond particles, which offer excellent hardness and wear resistance for cutting through acrylic cleanly. Carbide blades are also suitable for cutting acrylic, though PCD blades are generally preferred for smoother cuts.

Tooth Design: Blades for acrylic cutting typically have a high Teeth Per Inch (TPI) count, often ranging from 10 to 20 TPI. The high TPI count helps prevent chipping and provides a clean finish when cutting through acrylic.

Blade Length: Blade lengths can vary, but common lengths are in the range of 75mm (about 3 inches) to 100mm (about 4 inches).

Blade Type: Jigsaw blades come in two main types, T-shank and U-shank. The type you need depends on your jigsaw’s compatibility. Most modern jigsaws use T-shank blades.

Cutting Style: These blades are primarily designed for straight cuts in acrylic sheets. They may also be able to handle minor curves, but it’s best to avoid tight turns to prevent chipping.

Working Material: These blades are specifically designed for cutting through acrylic or plexiglass materials. They are not suitable for cutting through metal or other hard materials.

Ground Teeth: The teeth on acrylic cutting blades are often ground to ensure clean, chip-free cuts in the plastic material.

Cooling and Lubrication: Some acrylic cutting blades may have special coatings or designs to dissipate heat and reduce friction during the cutting process. This helps prevent melting and damage to the acrylic sheet.
